Primary & Secondary School Samba Workshops

Our Samba workshops for schools bring the energy of Brazilian Carnival to the classroom with dance, drumming and rhythm-based activities. Pupils learn authentic Samba steps, create carnival rhythms in drumming circles, and explore South American culture through movement and music.

Samba Dance Workshops for Schools

Our Samba dance workshops introduce pupils to the traditional rhythms and steps of Brazilian Carnival. Children will:

Learn Samba footwork and group choreography.
Explore the culture and history of Brazil through movement.
Build confidence, teamwork and performance skills.
These workshops are popular for primary schools during Arts Week and secondary schools during Diversity Week.

Carnival Dance Experience

Bring the colour and energy of Rio Carnival into your classroom! Our Carnival dance workshops for schools combine:

High-energy choreography inspired by Brazilian parades.
Interactive routines suitable for EYFS–KS4.
Optional links with Samba drumming or costume-making for a complete Carnival day.

Samba Drumming Workshops

Our Samba drumming workshops give pupils the chance to become part of a Brazilian percussion ensemble. They will:

Play authentic Samba rhythms using Brazilian drums and percussion.
Learn to listen, count and play together as a group.
Create a mini Samba band performance by the end of the session.

These workshops are great for KS2–KS4 pupils, offering an energetic and inclusive music experience.

Combined Samba Dance & Samba Drumming Workshops

We offer flexible packages so your school can choose the right experience:

Samba Dance Only – Learn Carnival dance routines, footwork and storytelling through movement. Perfect for primary and secondary schools.

Samba Drumming Only – Pupils create exciting rhythms together, building confidence and teamwork. Suitable for KS2, KS3 & KS4.

Dance & Drumming Combined (Most Popular) – A full-day or half-day programme with Samba dance in the morning and drumming in the afternoon, ending with a mini school performance.

These cultural enrichment workshops are ideal for Arts Week, Diversity Week, International Day, World Cultural Day and Carnival celebrations.

South American Dance Styles

As part of our South American workshops, we can also introduce pupils to:

Salsa & Tango – Latin American partner dances full of passion and rhythm.
Flamenco – Dramatic Spanish storytelling through movement.
Capoeira-inspired movement – A blend of martial arts, dance and rhythm from Brazil (KS2+).

SEN-Friendly Samba & Carnival Workshops

All our workshops are fully inclusive and SEN-friendly (SEND). We adapt dance and drumming to ensure every child, regardless of ability or learning need, can enjoy and succeed.

Perfect for special schools, SEN units and mainstream schools with mixed-ability classes.

Samba & Carnival Workshop Timings

EYFS – short, story-led Carnival sessions
KS1 – 30 minutes
KS2 – 40 minutes
KS3 & KS4 – 40-45 minutes

Workshops can be booked as half-day or full-day programmes, and we can include whole-school assemblies and end-of-day showcases.
