Djembe Drumming for schools

The djembe is made with goatskin, metal rings, rope and wood and is one of the oldest African drums. It was used for the King of Mali for communication to his people and for announcing his arrival. The school drumming workshops are cultural, authentic and give children a freedom of expression and development of performance of African Djembe Drumming. The Djembe drumming classes are essential for practicing sounds, beats, rythmns and timing and working has a unit.

African Drumming workshops for schools are educational EYFS, KS1, KS2, KS3 and KS4 National framework classes. The Drumming workshop sessions give children a cultural experience for practical and theatrical learning. These school workshops are fun, engaging and give the sessions a Wow factor! Pupils love exploring different ways of expression within primary and secondary schools. Children love playing the beautiful instruments and feel progression in their learning and development. Learning the fundamentals of music-making in sessions enhances confidence to express in front of classmates and to an audience. African drumming workshop sessions are inclusive for all pupils and children.
